Sustainable Livelihood

We are committed to empowering individuals with skills that lead to Sustainable Livelihoods. Our accredited training programs equip students with the knowledge and expertise needed to thrive in various industries.

Early Childhood Development

Educare centre allows children within the community surrounding Zuurbekom to access early childhood development facilities that would ensure their easy and appropriate integration into formal schools.

Community Nutrition Development Centre

Our organization is a key-aspect of community-based Health and Nutrition program, through CNDC, ensuring food-security and skill empowerment amongst our most vulnerable and needy community sectors. In 2008 Philani evolved to a Development Centre Status endorsed by the Department of Social Development rightfully claiming a standard of excellence and high quality service delivery. Philani implements programmes that do not only protect beneficiaries against poverty, but also promote investment in building and strengthening individuals and households

HIV, Counselling and Testing and Social Mobilisation Programme

Philani HTS and Social Mobilization Programme was initiated in August 2014, responding to specific Health needs of peri-mining areas, semi-rural areas, Sex Workers, informal settlements. PHILANI HTS & SOCIAL MOBILIZATION PROGRAMME implements activities which respond to and complement services provided by government departments, in reducing the new infections of HIV/AIDS and TB amongst individuals, families and community, especially amongst the vulnerable infected and affected community sector- promoting HTS, pre-counselling, post-counselling, one-to-one counselling, prevention regarding infectious viruses and Diseases, and alleviating the impacts of HIV/AIDS pandemic and TB in the community.

Safe Haven for Children Living and Working in the Street

Philani Safe Haven for children was initiated to meet the demand to have a shelter that could accommodate children in need without foster homes and those living on the streets. The intension was to provide them with a suitable environment that could foster growth and development. This initiative was implemented in 2008 and currently housing 16 young people. The Safe Haven is based in the community of Simunye. The structure has been extended to accommodate 31 beneficiaries. The organization is providing care and support services that will build stability while ensuring that they are rehabilitated and accepted within their families and community so as to facilitate for reunification.

Orphan and Vulnerable Children

Philani Development Centre was incepted and implemented initially as an initiative that advanced from the HIV/AIDS Programme with a focus on orphaned and vulnerable children and the youth, using the CEDC methodology from Sweden with well capacitated Care Givers.

Incubation Hub- Cooperative and Entrepreneurship Development

With the well-known history of Cooperative ailing in South- Africa, our organisation is committed to incubate more entrepreneurs with the support from the concerned financial institutions like South-Deep Trust, Department of Social Development, National Development Agency and
other interested parties.
